Practice this law from “The Seven Spiritual Laws of Yoga” on Friday

This is from the book, Co-depentant No More by Melody Beattie

“Detaching does not mean we don’t care.  It means we learn to love, care, and be involved without going crazy.  We stop creating all this chaos in our minds and environments.  When we are not anxiously and compulsively thrashing about, we become able to make good decisions about how to love people, and how to solve our problems.  We become free to care and to love in the ways that help others and don’t hurt ourselves.”

Mantra in Sanskrit Om Anandham Namah
Mantra in English My actions are blissfully free from attachment to outcome.

The law of Detachment reveals the great paradox of life… In order to acquire something in this life; you have to relinquish your attachment to it.  Make an intention and then release your attachment to outcome.  Just know that you will get what you want.  Incorporate this law on and off your mat daily:

Know that you need nothing in this world except yourself.  Your true self is your only source of security in this world.  Everything else is temporary… your house, your car, your job and even your relationships.
Embrace uncertainty
Surrender to the possibilities in life.  Make your intentions known to the universe and then just let them go.

OM Work

Consider incorporating a meditation practice into your day.  If this seems daunting, just sit quietly outside or by a window for 10 minutes each morning.
