So if you are following this, then you know I got sick yesterday. Today’s belly ache, headache, and fever tell me that I must have picked up a little bug. Of course my mom is reading my blog and is all worried that I’m making myself sick with this “cleansing thing.” I have to smile because when you step back and look at what I’m doing as a whole, it’s only possible that this (at least initial before I start experimenting) stage of this process could be good for me. In a nutshell:
- Eat 3 meals each day and minimize snacking.
- Eat only organic & whole grains, beans, veggies, fruits, nuts, seeds, berries, and oils.
- Drink herbalized teas and water
- Meditate 31 minutes each day & do yoga.
- Clear out your life and long-term plan.
- Lights out around 11 pm. Get up around 6 am.
That just can’t be bad for you. Now as the 120 days rolls on, things will get more intense and I’m going to use this Cleanse as an opportunity to test out some new herbs. Currently I’m taking just neem and triphala. I’m adding dandelion this week. It is a blood purifier and helps to alleviate excess pitta. Currently I’m fighting a patch of psoriasis on the base of my neckline that just drives me crazy. I’m hoping this cleanse gets rid of that too. Any skin condition is a result of imbalance in the plasma so if you use my life formula above, it should correct. The plasma only takes 5 days for a full flush. If something has been persistent, however, plan at least 35 days of totally clean living to reverse. When I say clean, I mean clean on all levels with no cheating.
Spiritually this week I’m staying with Satya or truth…do your insides and outsides match? Truth lives in the throat chakra which is really your most influential power center. What you speak determines the course of your life. How you speak it influences others. I am continuing to monitor my thoughts and match my thoughts with my words. It’s so interesting to honestly look at the inside of your head. The other day I was in my car watching a woman who really didn’t look healthy at all in her van smoke a cigarette (windows rolled up with kids), eat a cheeseburger, talk on the phone, and then drive. She really annoyed me. I found myself thinking about health insurance, premiums, car wrecks, and societal burden for poor choice making. Somehow I felt like I was “above” her. My thought pattern really disgusted me.
Do I really feel that way? I don’t know her life. Maybe it’s so bad that she is choosing a slow suicide. Maybe she really doesn’t know the impact of simply rolling down the window when she smokes. Honestly, who cares why? If you can’t see God in all, you can’t see God at all.
Tat Tvam Asi….that thou art, thou art that….you and me and me and you are one.
“Understand through compassion or you will misunderstand the times.” ~ 1 of 5 sutras for for the Aquarian Age given by Yogi Bhajan
Yogananda says the following:
Many people excuse their own faults but judge other persons harshly. We should reverse this attitude by excusing others’ shortcomings and by harshly examining our own.
I love yogis.
Today I’m going to make a list of my shortcomings.
