We are all earthlings desiring the same things:

  • food & water
  • shelter &companionship
  • freedom of movement
  • avoidance of suffering

This documentary is a great perspective on our relationship to this world and all earthlings that live in it.  I warn you it is graphic and very  upsetting.  I personally had to cover my eyes and fast forward through much of it unable to watch.  It is, however, truth and will change your relationship to the animals you eat, keep, and meet.

As I watched I wanted so much not to share.  It was interesting to want this to not be true, to want to hide this from the world.  The feeling of wanting to close a closet door and not deal with it was present in my mind.  I don’t want my children to know.  I want them to grow up sheltered and ignorant and happy.  I don’t want them to have to deal with this.  Yet, I know they need to  see this too so their consciousness can expand.  My children are teens.

I didn’t want to share with you either.  I want your personal choices to be yours alone.  I don’t want to stand on a soap box and preach about animal rights and suffering.  I want the slow path of yoga and improving yourself over time to work for the world, but it isn’t.  Collectively as a society, we must act.  There are many types of people in the world.  Some people act because of great information and understanding.  Most people, however,  act from the extreme initiation.  OM, Pamela
