If you are The Earth (Kapha)  or are suffering from an Earth (Kapha) imbalance, we need to warm you up and get you moving:

 

Invigorate the Earth
Embrace Avoid
Skip breakfast and drink warm skim milk or soy milk with honey (do not take more than 1 tablespoon a day) and nutmeg or cinnamon. Dairy, other than skim milk at breakfast
Eat a small light meal at both breakfast and dinner of lightly cooked foods, raw fruits and vegetables. Fried foods and fast food
Eat spicy foods  (Indian, Mexican, Asian) Cold foods
Favor tastes that are Bitter, Spicy and Astringent Red meat, pork, saltwater fish
Always choose hot foods over cold. Salt
Choose whole grains Sweeteners, other than a touch of honey
Use dry cooking methods such as baking, broiling, grilling and sautéing. Sesame, butter and olive oil
Drink ginger tea or hot water with lemon or ginger.
Prior to eating, eat a pinch of fresh gingerGinger is an amazing digestive aid.  Simply peel and grate ginger into a container.  Add lemon or lime juice and a pinch of Sea Salt.  Cover and refridgerate.  Prior to dinner, simply take a little bit….its really spicy!

This mixture can keep covered in your fridge for up to 5 weeks.  Add it to teas if you like.

If you want dessert, a hot fruit pie is the best choice
Skip a meal… it is OKAY!!!
Stay up a little later and get up a little earlier
Only drink when you are thirsty, the Earth is already watery and doesn’t need as much liquid as the other Elements.  Make sure it warm.
