Reduce the Wind or Vata

If you are the Wind (Vata) or have a Wind imbalance, we need to warm you up and slow you down…

Signs of Vata Imbalance include insomnia, excessive weight loss, feeling cold, feeling exhausted, tremors, shaking, back aches, head aches, and aches and pains in general

 

REDUCE THE WIND IN YOUR BODY
EMBRACE AVOID
Eat soothing foods such as dairy (warm is best), soups, warm bread and hot cereals. Caffeine
Always eat a rich nourishing breakfast.  Make it warm. Alcohol
Eat a warm lunch. Sugary sweets made of white flour and white sugar
Eat a snack of herbal tea and whole grain cookies or nuts (skinned almonds are best) or drink warm milk with honey and nutmeg. Salty snacks like chips and crackers, other than nuts
Drink warm water with ginger. Cold salads and raw veggies
Eat foods like Indian and Mexican. Dried fruit
Sweet fruits (especially cooked).
Salads at room temperature only.  Eat sparingly.
Pasta!
Cook your veggies!
