The purpose of tonight’s meditation in the 21 Stages of Meditation is to conquer fear. Not the typical fears that probably jumped into your mind, but the fear of giving. When you give to simply give, when you give with no attachment, when you give the same way that God gives, you become the Preacher. Think of your favorite flower. It simply grows for the shear joy of growing and gives all of itself away. It gives beautiful color, smell, and nectar. It gives just the way the formless gives. No expectations at all. Giving for the joy of giving. In fact, the flower may grow in a pot on your windowsill where it is loved and appreciated or it may grow deep in the woods where no one sees it. It doesn’t matter to the flower. It will still be bright, bold, and beautiful. We are meant to be that way.
Some fear that they don’t have enough to give. They worry they will give too much and not have enough. Tapping into the formless, you realize you have abundance and you can never give it all away. It is impossible.
Some fear they have nothing to give. As you tap into this stage of meditation, you become magnetic attracting people to you and you find that you have the words to give to people. You have the means by which to elevate them, sustain them, and help them. You inspire others simply by showing up.
Be careful not to get to involved with yourself at this stage. You are not the only preacher. The formless is working not just through you, but through many others. Your way is “a” way. It may not be “the” way for all. Your job as preacher is to help others find their path. Preach what you know, and allow others to hear what they need to hear. Rest into what you know, but rely on the unknown. Allow what comes to come. Simply allow your true self to project your positivity. Your job as preacher is to inspire others. “You speak from the you within you and from the silence that presides at the gateway of your infinite Self.” ~ Gurucharan Singh Khalsa
The meditation tonight is Chautay Padma Nirgun Mantra entered into in a joyous and grateful way?
Ek Ong Kaar Whaa –hay Guroo: One Creative Creation, Inexpressible Wisdom (male voice)
Sat Kartaar Whaa-hay Guroo: The One is the Doer, Inexpressible Wisdom (male voice)
Nirankarr Whaa-hay Guroo: Formless, Inexpressible Wisdom (female voice)
Nirankarr Whaa-hay Guroo: Formless, Inexpressible Wisdom (female voice)
The first half (male voices) mantra balances all the gunas. The second half (female voice) yokes Shakti and Shiva. The unmanifest become manifest.
Yogi Bhajan:
“You can always find a difference between a preacher and a teacher. You just hassle a teacher and he will hassle you right back. That’s the first sign. He is totally non-tolerant of nonsense. He will go all the way to see from where it came from in you. A preacher will start lecturing. He won’t react to your nonsense. The difference between a teacher and a preacher is a preacher becomes positive at that time when you are negative. Teacher becomes hundred times more negative than you are, then you get put onto your defense mechanisms. A preacher will guide you to understand and have you read books, which tell you about God, but do not tell you how to get it. “
